Antarctica 2023

A once-in-a-lifetime trip with Allie on the Viking Polaris expedition ship. We flew to Buenos Aires, took Viking-arranged charters to Ushuaia where we boarded the ship. Had a relatively benign crossing of the sometimes-fearsome Drake Passage and then spent 5 days cruising around various parts of Antarctica. Went kayaking, rode Zodiac boats to shore and spent hours walking around thousands of penguins, birds and seals. Saw dozens of whales. Headed back to Ushuaia a day early because the Drake would be kicking up on the planned transit day. Spent 36 hours flying back to Phila after an amazing trip.
